Quality assurance begins with rigorous testing. Every batch of gold extracted from the Busia Goldfield operations undergoes a multi-stage assaying process to determine its precise chemical composition and fineness.

  • XRF Analysis: We utilize X-Ray Fluorescence technology for non-destructive, instant testing of surface purity.

  • Fire Assay: For final certification, we employ the "Cupellation" method (Fire Assay), the industry gold standard for determining accuracy up to 99.9% purity.

  • Density Testing: Using hydrostatic scales to verify the physical integrity and weight of every bar.

The Refinery Process

Our refining facility transforms raw dore gold into high-purity investment-grade bars. We control the environment to ensure that all impurities are removed through a sophisticated metallurgical process:

  • Melting: Raw gold is melted at temperatures exceeding 1,947.2°F (1,064°C).

  • Chlorination (Miller Process): Bubbling gaseous chlorine through the molten gold to extract silver and base metal impurities.

  • Electrolysis (Wohlwill Process): For ultra-high purity requirements (999.9 fine gold), we utilize electrolytic refining to achieve the highest international standards.

  • Casting: The refined gold is cast into standardized bars, ready for hallmarking.
